Jobbeschreibung

At Roche, we believe it’s urgent to deliver medical solutions right now – even as we develop innovations for the future. We are passionate about transforming patients’ lives and we are fearless in both decision and action. And we believe that good business means a better world.

That is why we come to work each day. We commit ourselves to scientific rigour, unassailable ethics, and access to medical innovations for all. We do this today to build a better tomorrow.

The Immunology, Infectious diseases and Ophtalmology (I2O) Disease Therapeutic Area (DTA) of Roche Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development (pRED) strives to discover and develop new drugs for autoimmune, inflammatory, infectious and eye diseases of current unmet medical need.

The I2O Systems Biology group, located in Basel, is an integral component of the I2O drug discovery and early development pipeline, supporting data and knowledge management generated across the DTA and proposing new drug targets and biomarkers based on integrated data mining.

This internship program offers the most talented students the opportunity to gain valuable experience working with us on the curation, analysis and integration of molecular and clinical data that might lead to ground-breaking new therapies for patients in need.

Internship projects will include one or more of the following:

  • Cataloguing, curating, normalizing and integrating internal and public datasets generated from patients with diseases of interest using high-throughput omics approaches
  • Developing reproducible pipelines to mine such integrated datasets
  • Developing graphical user interfaces to facilitate browsing, interrogation and analysis of such datasets by non-informatics experts
  • Comprehensive documentation of developed datasets, software and interfaces

We are keen to discover talents who are passionate about learning and show great curiosity in discovering new concepts and methods, and who are able to work flexibly across disciplines.
