PhD Student in Image-Guided Computational Cardiac Mechanics in Zürich

This research group is looking for you!

Jobbeschreibung

ETH Zurich is one of the world’s leading universities specialising in science and technology. It is renowned for its excellent education, its cutting-edge fundamental research and its efforts to put new knowledge and innovations directly into practice. The Biomedical Imaging group of the Institute for Biomedical Engineering at the University and ETH Zurich develops Magnetic Resonance image-guided biomechanical models to assess the cardiovascular system in health and disease. As part of our efforts to model the in-vivo heart we are seeking to fill following position
The researchaims at developing a multi-physics computational model of pathological cardiac microstructure, morphology and function. The framework aims at describing the evolution of tissue properties, wall dynamics and systemic circulation for acute and chronic ischemia of the myocardium. In particular, the student will investigate anatomical and microstructural remodelling based on longitudinal clinical studies comprising in-vivo Magnetic Resonance imaging and experimental data. In a second stage, the student will investigate machine learning approaches to personalize the computational model to individual hearts.
We look forward to receiving your online application including a letter of motivation, CV, study subjects including grades and contact details of 2 referees. Please note that we exclusively accept applications submitted through our online application portal. Applications via email or postal services will not be considered.
