Internship in Process Development in Zug

The Process Development team within Blood Gas & Electrolyte (BG&E) Engineering is supporting the manufacturing processes and the quality control of BG&E Sensors and Reagents used in BG&E systems (for example cobas b123 blood gas system). We are responsible for developing process improvements which lead to improved product quality and costs. We act as scientific support for the running production and establish control loops for identified critical process parameters to ensure stable production. We are a dynamic team of 13 scientists/engineers with various backgrounds in engineering, physics, chemistry and biology.

We are looking for a highly motivated Intern to support our process improvement projects within the production of BG&E Sensors. As an Intern, you will directly contribute to different running projects. Therefore, you will get the opportunity to have a direct impact on product improvements. 

Your main tasks would include:

  • Plan and execute experiments in a laboratory environment
  • Analyze production process and/or experimental data
  • Report results and conclusions to the project team
  • Develop new measurement/characterization methods and install new equipment
  • Provide scientific support to running production issues
  • Create ideas for process improvements

Ideally, you fulfill the following criteria:

  • You are enrolled as a student or have recently graduated (within the last 12 months) in the field of Materials Science, Chemistry, Biology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related fields
  • You enjoy working hands-on in a laboratory environment
  • You have statistical data analysis skills
  • You are able to work independently
  • You want to have an impact and prefers to work in a dynamic environment
  • You are a proactive team player who easily connects with people having different backgrounds
  • You are fluent in German and English (spoken and written)
