Senior Business Analyst & Project Leader (80-100%) in Zürich

As Senior Business Analyst and Project Leader, you are responsible to initiate, analyze and concretize project ideas and drive them to successful implementations. You lead a variety of projects in the Airline IT domain primarily in the Flight Operations (operations steering & planning) area. You work as the IT contact in close cooperation with the relevant business units and IT management including the Lufthansa Group. You will work in a matrix organization: disciplinarily you are part of SWISS IT to Business Alignment team and functionally attached to the Lufthansa Group Hub-IT.

In this role, you have a broad and very interesting range of responsibilities:

As a Business Analyst you collect, analyze and optimize business processes, structures and resources.

As a project manager you take ownership for delivery and you are responsible for predictable, high quality outcomes resulting in good user satisfaction.

Your duties

• Lead medium to large IT projects for the airlines
• Make things happen, stay positive when the pressure mounts and have a strong drive. You will be communicating with senior stakeholders with very high expectations and strictly focused on outcomes and deliverables
• Think strategically, create business cases that hold up over long term and get approvals
• Develop strategies and solutions for business processes in cooperation with the relevant business unit and IT management
• Manage the project staff, adequate design of the processes and organizational structure within the project
• Keep colleagues, managers and stakeholders informed and up to date; with escalations to management if needed
• Produce solution proposals and coordinate them with the client
• Establish requirements and ensure they are implemented
• Create test concepts and test cases and make sure they are used in testing

• University degree in Information Technology, Information Management, Computer Science or related field
• Multi-year Project Management experience (PMP certification is an advantage)
• Solid core Project Management skills including financial management, planning, scheduling, reporting, resource management, communications, risk management, dependencies, scope, time quality & budget
• Strong business analysis skills including analyzing business requirements and creating requirement documents
• Excellent communications skills on all levels (up / down / peers / cross team)
• Strong proactive mindset and entrepreneurial thinking
• Ability to take responsibility and to stay focused on delivering according to plan
• Known for hitting deadlines and staying within budget
• Experience in airline flight operations or air traffic control/ management is an advantage
• Experience in agile project delivery is an advantage
• Fluent in German and English
• High commitment and dedication
