PhD position in Immersive Wave Experimentation (100%) in Zürich

The Exploration and Environmental Geophysics group at ETH Zürich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) has an opening for an ambitious and talented PhD candidate, starting between October 1st and December 1st, 2019. The position is closely related to a novel wave propagation laboratory for immersive experimentation currently under construction at ETH and is funded through the EU ERC Advanced project 694407 – MATRIX.

We are looking for candidates with a strong interest in the physics of wave propagation. The position will have a strong experimental focus taking advantage of the complete control in the characterization of media that is possible in the Centre for Immersive Wave Experimentation (CIWE), with its fully closed surfaces of sensors and actuators.
