SWISS Technical Engineering Department defines the technical standard of our fleet. Our prime focus is to ensure a safe, airworthy and reliable operation of the SWISS aircraft. Furthermore, we strive to improve continuously our product, standards and processes with cost saving initiatives and optimization efforts, in order to assert our service in a complex, competitive and ever demanding environment. To help achieve our objectives we are inviting professionals with aviation technical background to join our Zurich based Technical Engineering team.

 

The Aircraft Structures & Interior Engineering group as part of the Technical Engineering Department has the overall responsibility for the definition of technical standards for structures and cabin related components, serving our short- and long haul fleets. The Inflight Entertainment (IFE) System Engineer is responsible for a reliable and cost-effective IFE system operation. He or she reports directly to the Head of Aircraft Structures & Interior Engineering.

 Your Duties

  • Ensures/supports compliance of aircraft systems and related components with continuing airworthiness requirements issued by TC Holders & Airworthiness Authorities
  • Supports Maintenance organization in regards of trouble-shooting and on matters related to defects and deviations from approved data (including standby support outside office hours)
  • Provides Maintenance organization and Flight Operations with consultancy on technical and maintenance issues
  • Liaises with OEMs and vendors on technical issues
  • Monitors aircraft systems' data and analyses reliability trends and proposes adequate response actions
  • Assesses, proposes, plans and monitors technical upgrades and modifications on the assigned fleet in order to improve system reliability and optimize unit maintenance cost
  • Assesses and/or defines maintenance requirements and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA), monitors their implementation and triggers adequate corrective actions in case of deviation
  • Supports the Technical Procurement Department in contract negotiations/fulfilment and warranty claim managementMaintains the Field Loadable Software handling and configuration control
Your profile
  • Apprenticeship and HF degree or Bachelor/Master degree in Aerospace / Aeronautical / Telecommunication Engineering
  • Project Management knowledge and experience is of advantage
  • Understanding of aircraft schematics, telecommunication and connectivity is preferred
  • Cyber Security knowledge is an asset
  • Must be detail oriented and have good business acumen
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident personality, strong teamwork skills and ability to cope with a workload picks (Self-Management)
  • Ability to maintain a customer oriented attitude
  • Proactivity paired with decision-making skills
  • Presentation skills
