Student Internship - Controller in Group Financials Finance & Accounting (from October 2019, for 6 Months) in Basel

Within Group Controlling and Accounting, the Management Information Team (FCM) provides timely, accurate and decision-relevant information to support the CFO, CEO, the Corporate Executive Committee and the Board of Directors in value creation and financial performance management. It provides decision-relevant, accurate and timely information and analysis of actual and planned financial performance of the Group, Divisions, Operating Divisional Groups and Pharma management units throughout the Group Leadership Cycle.

Your main accountabilities:

This internship will provide you with a unique financial perspective on one of the world’s leading healthcare companies. Based on various management accounting tasks, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the income statement, cash flows and balance sheet on a group level.

You will be working in an international environment and gain insights into financial accounting and reporting processes, key performance indicators (sales, operating profit, net income, EPS, headcount, cash flow, OPAC etc.), products and markets.

You will play an active role in:
  • Compiling the management reports for the Corporate Executive Committee, Board of Directors and other important decision makers
  • Analyzing the performance of the Roche Group, divisions, regions and affiliates
  • Supporting Roche’s quarterly external releases
  • Contributing to the Roche competitor analysis report
  • Maintaining tools and reports and initiating their further enhancement
  • Projects and initiatives (ad-hoc)

What do you need in your toolbox?
  • You are currently finalizing your University degree in Finance / Economics (Master preferred) and have a first internship experience in an international company.
  • We are looking for an enthusiastic team-player who enjoys working in a global and dynamic environment
  • Open-minded and flexible attitude with a vivid interest in Finance
  • Interest in IT related topics
  • Strong analytical skills and quick perception
  • Accurate working style and able to work under pressure / within tight timelines
  • Outstanding motivation and willingness to continuously learn
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint are a strong asset
  • Excellent command of English
