The Neural Control of Movement Lab (Department of Health Sciences and Technology) is focused on the application of cutting edge neuroimaging techniques and analyses to important problems in motor neuroscience. Applications are invited for the following opening: PhD Position on ‘Central mechanisms of motor fatigability in humans’.

Job description

We are interested in investigating the central mechanisms underlying motor fatigability in humans using a variety of neuroimaging and brain stimulation techniques including fMRI and TMS. Work performed by the candidate will include the development of behavioral paradigms, acquisition of neuroimaging and TMS data sets in human subjects and the application of conventional and machine learning analysis techniques. It is possible that this project will expand to test patients with motor disorders.

Your profile

The successful candidate will have a MSc degree (or be close to completion) in the field of behavioral neuroscience, neurophysiology, psychology, biomedical engineering or a related field. The candidate will ideally have experience in acquiring and analyzing fMRI and/or TMS data. The candidate should also be technically capable with programming experience in Matlab, Python or a similar language. Experience with psychophysical experimentation in human subjects will be highly regarded. She/he is a team player, has strong communication skills, is self-motivated, has scientific curiosity, and performs rigorous experimental work. Fluency in English is essential.
