As a Distribution IT Business Analyst / Requirements Engineer, you will be part of the Distribution & Payment Solutions IT Service Factory within the Lufthansa Group and therein responsible for the business analysis / requirements for the implementation (and later the operation) of a Touristic Distribution Solution.

Within an interdisciplinary project organization, you will be part of the IT project with 6-10 employees from various IT domains of Lufthansa Group. The goal of the IT project is to implement a state-of-the-art software solution that supports the business concept and processes of a full or partial charter airline. You will have the rare opportunity to build up a business model and its IT operation from scratch; consequently, the setup of all Application Management Services (based on ITIL) will be part of the project.

Ideally you have a background in airline IT or you worked in an IT department of a tour operator or you have a good general understanding of tour operator processes related to airlines overall.

Some of your strongest skills should include the conducting end-to-end business analysis, gathering and documenting requirements, understanding and defining IT processes, identifying possible technical obstacles and possible solutions, managing external software providers and communicating transparent within the organization. Your challenges

  • Act as IT Analyst and/or Business Analyst and/or Requirements Engineer within the IT project as part of a larger interdisciplinary project team
  • Implementation of in-house or third party distribution technologies / products
  • Define operational processes based on company-wide standards
  • Coordinate activities with other Lufthansa Group airlines
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships on technical level with partners/stakeholders
  • Create interface specification documents or technical change requests
  • Collect, summarize and distribute distribution knowhow within Lufthansa Group
Your profile
  • Proven Requirements Engineering / Business or IT Analysis skills, ideally with a related certificate
  • Higher education with relevant work experience
  • IT background, e.g. acquired through work experience and/or trainings (e.g. ITIL)
  • Understanding of Tour Operators or Distribution Technologies or Airline or Travel IT is a plus
  • Experience in working with different technical interfaces as well as XML and/or other languages
  • Know how in any of the following areas as a plus: pricing, ATPOC, PSS, GDS, EMD, ticketing, ancillary services
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% (mostly between the Hubs Zurich, Frankfurt, Vienna)
  • Fluent in English and/or German, other languages as a plus
