Jobbeschreibung

The Pricing & Steering Analyst maximizes Lufthansa Group’s (LHG) passenger revenues by pricing and steering the offer of the three carriers SWISS, Austrian and Lufthansa. He or she implements smart short and long-term pricing strategies for the three airlines and its individual markets, while meeting LHG targets of revenue, yield and passenger numbers. The Pricing & Steering Analyst identifies untapped revenue opportunities in the respective markets and anticipates upcoming trends and developments in coordination with the local sales organization. He or she monitors traffic flows, originating from the dedicated markets to destinations worldwide and drives improvements in the areas of pricing and revenue management to maximize the contribution across the whole network.

Your Duties

  • Assume responsibility for the revenue generated in different markets/Points of Commencement (POCs), monitor and analyze performance and take corrective/improvement measures to exceed set targets
  • Define the pricing policy (fares, conditions, restrictions) for POC portfolio and set/adjust steering parameters to maximize net revenue according to the strategy set
  • Define the three airlines’ positioning in each market in terms of prices per compartment
  • Analyze the offer of relevant benchmark carriers and closely monitor their activities as well as the overall market competitive landscape and consequently derive actions
  • Set priorities; focus on Origin & Destinations (O&Ds) with the highest revenue potential
  • Ensure adequate protection of all relevant POC peaks in coordination with respective Capacity Steerer
  • Build up constructive communication with internal and external interfaces; collaborate and interact closely with LHG partner carriers and Capacity Steering
  • Coordinate with relevant interfaces, internal and external, to identify revenue opportunities anticipating trends and developments and also calculate business cases for major changes
  • Ensure fare distribution and filing activities in each market/POC
  • Know and implement the overall revenue management priorities as well as the team priorities
  • Prepare and hold presentations, prepare presentations to serve as decision-making basis for superior and upper management
Your profile
  • University degree in economics, business administration or similar education
  • Experience in Revenue Management is an asset
  • Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills combined with strong interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills are essential
  • Conceptually strong and capable of seeing the bigger picture
  • Confident and able to perform consistently also under pressure
  • Hands-on team player who is comfortable working in a challenging but exciting business environment
  • Fluent in English (German is an asset)
  • Excellent skills in PC-based applications software (MS Office tools, esp. Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to further expand and develop own skillset/knowledge and seek new approaches to problems
  • Ability to interact professionally at all levels of the organization, clearly articulating subject matters in a persuasive manner
