Studierende finden an der ETH Zürich ein Umfeld, das eigenständiges Denken fördert, Forschende ein Klima, das zu Spitzenleistungen inspiriert.
A post-doctoral position is available in the group of Prof. Picotti at the Institute of Molecular Systems Biology.
The Picotti lab has developed a novel, high-throughput approach relying on mass spectrometry to identify protein structural rearrangements on a large scale and directly from complex cell and tissue extracts. The successful candidate will apply this approach to analyze the relationships between altered protein structures, including protein aggregates, and aging phenotypes.
You will be part of a vibrant and collegial team of scientists working at the cutting-edge of structural proteomics. You will be trained in advanced targeted and unbiased structural proteomic analyses based on mass spectrometry. You will learn and apply a variety of bioinformatics approaches to structural systems biology analysis, have the opportunity to be involved in cross-disciplinary collaborations, and have access to state-of the-art facilities.
Applicants should have earned a PhD that demonstrates a solid background in mass spectrometry-based proteomics, and should have a strong publication record as primary author, a good command of written and spoken English, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with structural biology concepts is preferable but not required. Importantly, you must be able to work independently but also as a part of a team. An interest in technology development as well as systems biology concepts and approaches is highly recommended here.
We look forward to receiving your application including a cover letter (explaining your motivation and describing your expertise and how it matches the above requirements), a CV, PDFs of your research papers and contact information for at least three references. Please note that we exclusively accept applications submitted through our online application portal. Applications via email or postal services will not be considered.
The position is available immediately. We will invite candidates for an interview within ~1.5 months of this posting.
Further information about the lab can be found on our website . Questions regarding the position should be directed to Dr. Natalie de Souza at desouza@imsb.biol.ethz.ch (no applications).
