Job Description 53! That is the number of scientists working in Protein Sciences (PS) Basel to support early drug discovery projects. The Chemical Biology & Therapeutics (CBT) organization in NIBR, Basel has an opportunity for a talented and motivated student to pursue her/his research in the PS group. The successful applicant will be working in an interdisciplinary team to explore, implement and extend knowledge on the expression of disease relevant functional proteins in different expression hosts.
Your responsibilities: • Optimize the production of “difficult to express” proteins in bacterial and insect cell systems by manipulating expression conditions. • Independently perform experiments, evaluate data, generate reports, and present data at internal forums. • Contribute to the design and optimization of experiments and stay current on literature and technological advances. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on drug development projects.
