The Center for Law and Economics at ETH Zurich conducts theoretical, experimental, and empirical research in law and economics. At the Center, Professor Stefan Bechtold is looking for a student assistant with statistical knowledge and coding skills to assist in running experiments with human subjects and in analysing the resulting data.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who will work on several projects aimed at understanding human behavior. Research areas may include human decision-making, psychological biases, innovation and the Internet. The successful candidate will work with researchers from different areas at the Center for Law and Economics. To conduct experiments, our main platform is the Python-based open-source software . Ideally, the successful candidate is a student in computer science, statistics, economics or a related discipline. She or he will assist with the analysis and visualization of data gathered in the experiments. Tasks may also include coding interactive, real-time experiments to be conducted in our lab, online or in the field.
The candidate must have programming skills, in particular in statistical software (R preferred, others accepted). Applicants need to be registered students at a university in Zurich or nearby. They should be at a stage of their studies where, during the semester, they can dedicate 10 to 15 hours per week (potentially more outside of the semester).
