Job Description 3 ! The number of projects you will be working on to develop our growing pipeline of NCEs drug products . We are looking for a post doc candidate in the area of drug product development for parenteral formulations, with special focus on LAI (Long Acting Injectables).
Long acting injectable play an increasing role in the Novartis project pipeline.
It is a unique opportunity to shape development of LAIs at Novartis. Parallel you as a Postdoc will receive a comprehensive overview of drug development at Novartis and shape your network for the next career step. State-of the art equipment and science paired with a highly dynamic, multicultural and committed team of scientists is granted.
Are you interested? We are waiting for you to put your own stamp on it. The position is located at the Novartis Headquarter site in Basel within the Analytical R&D (ARD), which is a line function of the Technical R&D department of Global Drug Development.

Your responsibilities
• Building an analytical platform for evaluation of drug release from parenteral extended release dosage forms
• Assessment of in vivo PK data and relevant physiological parameters influencing drug release from LAIs
• Full drug product characterization together with our highly engaged lab workforce, thus driving the innovation ecosystem of Novartis.
• Planning, performing, interpreting experiments and regular aligning with our experts in the field.
• Contribute to increase product understanding of complex formulations and consequently accelerate product development timelines.
• Built biopharm and IVIVC assessment for parenteral dosage forms.
• Be a strong communicator and role-model in collaboration.
• Present your research at internal and external event to build a professional network and constantly evaluate the external landscape in this field.


Minimum requirements What you bring to the role
• You hold a PhD in pharmaceutical, analytical science or related filed with experience in long acting injectable dosage forms.
• You bring along strong analytical knowledge and experiences with in vitro release (dissolution) testing, RP-HPLC and UV-Vis. Experience in solid-state characterization, GPC and rheology is an additional asset.
• Preferably, experience in Gastro+, SymCyp or similar software for PBPK/IVIVC modelling.
• An strong track record of original research and extensive experience of pharmaceutical sciences using “state of the art” technologies demonstrates your strong background in the above mentioned fields.
• While you are a strong teammate you can also work independently.
• Hands-on experience and motivation to work in a laboratory environment are mandatory.
• You have a creative approach, showcasing agility, constantly eager to expand your knowledge and establish new techniques.
• A track record on strong interpersonal and communication skills are regarded as the basis.
