Job description
The project is targeted at investigating the fundamental properties of such an ion source with respect to detection capabilities, including sensitivity, formation of spectral interferences and matrix effects. It shall decipher the key performance figures for a wide range of applications and different sample introduction methods.
Experimental work will be carried out in the facilities of the Group of Trace Element- and Micro-Analysis at the ETH Hönggerberg Campus. We will provide state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure, a creative, supportive working environment and access to excellent workshops.
Your profile
The candidate holds a MSc or comparable degree in analytical chemistry or a related field and has a strong interest in ICPMS-based element and isotope analytical methods. The project may also include modification and optimization hardware designs in collaboration with the institute’s excellent workshops.
We expect a motivated candidate, interested in working in an established, team-oriented, international research group with a strong interdisciplinary orientation.
She or he is expected to be fluent in one of the Swiss official languages or English at first language level.
