Job Description 6000! That’s the number of associates in the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR). This division is the innovation engine of Novartis, focusing on powerful new technologies that have the potential to help produce therapeutic breakthroughs for patients.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Synthesis of organic compounds for biological evaluation • Applying modern organic synthesis methodology • Using state-of-the art chromatographic purification methods • Confirming identity and purity of compounds using analytical techniques (e.g. LC-MS and NMR) • Documentation and communication of results, e.g. in electronic lab note books and at lab meetings
Duration of this internship: 6 months
Minimum requirementsWhat you’ll bring to the role: • Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of synthetic organic synthesis • Demonstrated experience in organic chemistry laboratories • IT skills (Microsoft Office, ChemDraw, chemical synthesis databases) • Proficiency in English • Team player attitude, interest in drug discovery
