The KOF Swiss Economic Institute at the ETH Zurich is the leading institute for applied research in economics in Switzerland ().
You will work in the Division Macroeconomic Forecasting and conduct research in the fields of forecasting, applied macroeconometrics and macroeconomics. You will contribute to forecasting and monitoring the international macroeconomy.
We offer the opportunity to conduct research at a renowned institution and in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The position offers a mix of academic research and applied work. This includes participation in periodic forecasting activity for the international economy and the development of a Nowcasting Lab, where daily GDP nowcasts are made available to the public. ETH Zurich offers internationally competitive working conditions. Gross salary will be in accordance with the regulations of ETH Zurich.
You have a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in economics or any other related subject. You conduct high-quality research. You have a clear interest in macroeconomic forecasting, business cycle analysis, macroeconometrics, time series econometrics, machine learning and computer coding of statistical models. Rigorous training in econometrics and/or statistics and a strong command of R, Matlab or other programming languages are desired. Good writing skills in German and/or French are mandatory.
