Head of IT in Zürich

Join one of Europe's leading independent digital agencies! As Head of IT, you are responsible for the operational and strategic lead of our IT team. You ensure smooth operations of the company’s IT infrastructure and will be leading the evaluation and introduction of tools and processes to maintain, scale and further automate our IT landscape.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the operational, strategic, and team lead of a smaller IT department, formulating the IT vision and IT strategy for the company. In addition, together with your team, you ensure IT governance, operations, security and the further development of systems, plan and operate IT services that are required for optimal support of the business processes and are managing the conception of IT architectures and IT services, as well as the procurement process of IT resources and services. As Head of you develop your team and team members, are a sparring partner for the Management on technical questions and make sure that all internal clients receive an exceptional service. In addition, you role model our leadership imperatives (demonstrating self-awareness, empowering and developing others, inclusive leadership & fairness, drive performance & results). 
Together with your team your involvement also includes managing end-user devices (macOS and Windows laptops) as well as the network and printing infrastructure, operating and extending our MDM and directory solutions to deploy and proactively manage and maintain our fleet of end-user devices, monitoring system utilization, handle notifications and security warnings and initiate appropriate action and/or escalation procedures, ensuring security practices are in place and operations are running according to security guidelines, keeping the documentation of operational processes and end-user self-service pages up-to-date, overseeing on- and offboarding of employees and improving the overall  end-users customer journey.

• bring team-leading and IT planning and budgeting experience 
• have in-depth IT knowledge in both Mac and Windows environments, as well as in advanced network engineering, in addition to owning well-developed hardware and software skills
• Impress us with your skills in managing organizations in Google Workspace, Kandji or JumpCloud
• Impress us even more with your experience in open source solutions such as Debian, Ansible, strongSwan, Asterisk or XenServer
• can communicate well both orally and in writing in German and English
• have completed an apprenticeship or studies in the field of information technology, have equivalent training, or are currently enrolled in a related education
