You will work at the Neuroscience, Ophtalmology and Rare Diseases (NORD) unit within Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED). NORD has a rich pipeline from early biology to Phase II clinical trials, including programs in Psychiatry, Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Neurodegeneration and Neuroimmune diseases.   You will join the Neuroscience Translational Medicine group which runs clinical trials from entry into human studies to Phase II studies to demonstrate drug efficacy. The Neuroscience Translational Medicine group works in close collaboration with other pRED functions, such as biomarkers, biometrics, modelling, and clinical pharmacology, all relevant for this research project. We already have a large repository of clinical data from trials in autism spectrum disorder which is the basis for the current research project.

During your internship your tasks and responsibilities includes:

  • Application of cutting-edge psychometric and statistical methodologies, such as Item Response Theory, to better understand and improve clinical scales used to monitor symptom change during drug trials in subjects with autism spectrum disorder
  • Develop scripts in R, Matlab, or SPSS for analyzing clinical scales data
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners
  • Communicate results internally and externally if needed

You are an enrolled PhD student and interested in gain more experience in research in the pharmaceutical industry.

Moreover you are/have:

  • Strong quantitative skills preferably with a psychology focus
  • Good knowledge of Matlab or R
  • Understanding of psychology and cognitive science proficient in English
