Student Internship in IT Project Management (from August, 12 months) in Basel

This internship in our global Pharma IT department offers you the chance to apply and advance your IT project management and coordination skills as well as your skills in planning strategically. It will grant you insights into the Pharma value chain specifically around GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) related controlled document management.

You will join our team which is accountable to architect, design and implement document management solutions for end users in our Pharma Technical and Pharma Development departments around the globe. You are going to work with us in our modern activity-based working space at our new IT campus at the location of Kaiseraugst and collaborate with Project Managers, Solution Architects, Delivery Service Managers and Business Analysts with extensive experience in their roles.

Your main responsibilities may include:
  • Engage in defining a 3-5 year strategic Solution Roadmap for our area by building and leading workshops, conducting interviews and supporting Solution Architects in the visual representation
  • Support the formulation and definition of scope and objectives of projects in collaboration with the Solution Owner, the Business Process Owner and the Solution Architect as well as with other Roche internal and external team members
  • Add to the elaboration of project schedules, budgets and scope baselines
  • Support the delivery on the approved baseline schedule and budget by participating in the coordination and tracking of the project execution and the monitoring of risks

Who you are

You are a student in the advanced phase of your Bachelor or Master degree, preferably in IT, Project Management or have an interest in these fields. You are curious about IT Technologies and have studied or worked in Strategic Planning / Project Management methodologies. You have strong communication and interpersonal/networking skills and like working in a team.

Moreover you are/have:
  • You are fluent in English verbally and in writing; Other languages, specifically German, Polish or Spanish a plus
  • High proficiency in working virtually (Phone / Video-Conferences / Digital online and offline collaboration)
  • Knowledge of Google Office Tools
  • Knowledge of project planning tools (MS Project or Smartsheet)
  • Short work experience, internships and studies abroad are a plus

The preferred start date of the internship is August 2018. However, please indicate your availability in your motivation letter. Applications need to include a CV and a motivation letter.
