The postdoc position is located in the Inhalation Pharmaceutical Development Unit within Novartis Technical Research and Development. The unit is responsible for the formulation and process development of innovative drug products applied by inhalation and is located at the Novartis Campus in Basel, Switzerland. We are looking for a Postdoc supporting us to build up a set of characterization tools and data mining approaches to further develop and inform a computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model to predict regional airways drug deposition of inhalation dosage forms.
Duration: 24 months, starting in October 2018
PhD in biomedical engineering science, physics, inhalation dosage forms or related discipline - The ideal candidate has in-depths understanding of device and aerosol characterization techniques such as Laser velocimetry and Laser diffraction. Knowledge of inhalation dosage forms, aerosol characterization techniques, dissolution methods for inhaled dosage forms and of IVIVC are advantageous - In addition, you must be fluent in English, computer literate, have good presentation skills
Ideally you have the ability to work independently under minimal supervision and demonstrate good communication skills with an eagerness to take on responsibility in a team oriented environment.
