Regional Product Portfolio Manager for Europe in Zurich

Would you like to work in an international environment, with opportunities for broad networking in and outside ABB? We are now looking for an addition to our team, with experience in product management, who has power and dedication and wants to lead the long term profitable growth and marketing of ABB. If you are up for a challenge and want to work with prestigious projects and be in close contact with our customers then you should become our new Regional Product Portfolio Manager for Europe. You will be working in High Voltage Products, a business unit within the Power Grids division. We develop, manufacture and market high voltage products for HVAC and HVDC systems, such as surge arresters, breakers, instrument transformers, cooling systems, GIS, generator circuit breakers, capacitor banks, filter solutions, battery energy storage solutions and related services.

Your main task will be to ensure optimal product portfolio fit to the assigned region, by monitoring market potential, customer requirements and competitor development, and providing comprehensive inputs to develop business strategy and targets.

More specifically, you will:

• Monitor existing portfolio by analysing its technical compliance, life cycle, financial indicators and customer perceived quality
• Lead market situation analysis in the assigned region and identify potential gaps in existing portfolio
• Support GPM with new product development to create maximum value
• Deliver clear product positioning within the portfolio with defined values per product line
• Provide market price insight, to help in setting the right targets
• Ensure a balanced business growth by providing value based selling approach
• Lead the communication between M&S resources and Local Product management to ensure proper information flow across stakeholders.

To succeed in the role, you have a minimum of Master’s Degree in Engineering, combined with a minimum of 5 years of management experience in sales and/or product management. Fluent in written and spoken English, matched with excellent communication skills is a must, as well as strong networking approach & excellent ability to guide, coach, influence and mentor others.

You have a high level of business acumen, strong analytical and systemic problem solving skills. It is advantageous to have an understanding of HV Products.
