The Neuroscience Disease and Translational Area oversees the discovery, research and development of novel treatments for diseases such as autism, schizophrenia and Alzheimer’s disease. The RiSE program (Roche Internships for Scientific Exchange) offers the most talented postgraduate students the opportunity to improve their competencies and to gain valuable work experience with us.
The Neurodevelopmental Disorders section located in Basel, Switzerland is using cutting edge methodologies to understand disease and support drug development efforts in autism. We are looking for someone passionate about performing in vivo electrophysiology recordings and behavior tests in a rat autism model to understand the effect of drug treatment on brain response and to correlate it to social behavior effects.

You are a matriculated MD or PhD student in the subject of Neuroscience, Biology or Medicine (with laboratory experience).

The preferred start date of the internship is September 2018 or upon availability. Please clearly indicate your preferred starting date and duration of internship in your motivation letter.
Applications need to include a CV and a cover letter, as well as a letter from your academic supervisor supporting your RiSE application.
Due to regulations non-EU/EFTA citizens must provide a certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory as part of the application documents.
