Roche is a global leader in developing therapeutic antibodies for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. This long term effort will now be supported by the Pharmaceutical Sciences department with a two-year fellowship program to develop a state of the art computational model of amyloid related imaging abnormalities (ARIA), which are often associated with anti-amyloid therapies. The computational model of ARIA will provide an in-silico laboratory for investigating the pathophysiological mechanisms responsible for ARIA and for evaluating novel approaches to ameliorate it.
This post-doctoral position will entail the development and application of a computational model of ARIA based on experimental data from clinical and pre-clinical studies, and current mechanistic hypotheses formulated in collaboration with leading academic researchers.
The project will involve:
The computational model of ARIA will support and inform the development of novel dosing regimens that minimize ARIA risk, improve patient convenience and/ or enhance the efficacy and durability of anti-amyloid therapy. The resulting model and simulations will be published in high-impact journals and presented at internal and external meetings.
