Post-Doc position in Geomechanics in a multi-disciplinary Deep Underground Laboratory team (100%) in Zürich

An initiative led by the Department of Earth Sciences is currently setting up a deep underground rock laboratory for research in the fields of geosciences and geo-energy. A series of experiments is being implemented with the activities of the Swiss Competence Center for Energy Research (SCCER) in the Bedretto Underground Laboratory in the Central Swiss Alps.

The SCCER and the Geothermal Energy and Geofluids Group (GEG) at ETH Zürich jointly invites applicants for a 2-year Post-Doc position in the area of geomechanics. The position is fully funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.

You will be part of an international, multidisciplinary team of researchers with various backgrounds in geosciences and geological engineering. Within the advertised position you will have the opportunity to contribute to the conception, planning, implementation and analysis of a variety of geomechanics field experiments tailored to enhanced geothermal systems (EGS) and induced seismicity at the scale of an underground laboratory.
