The Protein Sciences group within the Chemical Biology and Therapeutics department at NIBR is seeking a motivated and independent postdoctoral researcher for the study of intrinsically disordered proteins in aqueous state or after liquid-liquid phase separation. The aim of this interdisciplinary project is to explore ways to characterize and modulate the biological activity of intrinsically disordered proteins, by using methods from biophysics, structural biology and chemical biology.
The successful candidate will join a vibrant scientific community and collaborate with other postdoctoral fellows mentored by a range of scientists across disciplines and platforms, including chemistry, structural biology, molecular biology, functional genomics, neurophysiology and translational medicine. Postdoctoral scholars at NIBR have a unique opportunity to conduct innovative, interdisciplinary research and are expected to publish their results in leading journals. The postdoctoral term is up to 4 years.

PhD in chemical biology, biophysics or related fields (PhD students in the last year of their thesis work are eligible to apply) English is mandatory, German or French a plus Expertise in biophysical methods, for example NMR spectroscopy, and a chemical biology background or mindset are required for this position, whereas experience with intrinsically disordered or phase-separated proteins is welcome but not required. - Expertise in biophysical and structural investigations of proteins, e.g. by NMR spectroscopy - Strong publication record - Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills - Candidates must be able to work independently as well as with interdisciplinary teams
