The Novartis Pharmaceuticals Global Employee Communications team is searching for an enthusiastic, creative and energetic intern to join our team. Responsible for communication to the approximately 30 000 Novartis Pharmaceuticals associates across 140 countries, the team has many strategic and diverse opportunities for an intern on their journey to develop and grow as a communications professional. You will have a background in communications, marketing or journalism with strong writing skills, an eye for detail and a solid foundation in communications project planning. In this role you will support the Employee Communications team in delivering against our overall communications plan – which includes a focus on leadership communications, digital internal communications, employee engagement and our internal, global newsflow.
Main areas of responsibility will include: • Manage the operations of the overall Global Pharma newsflow, working with other communicators to prepare, proof, and implement newsflow communications such as intranet publication, weekly newsletters, divisional mass mails and posts on Yammer (our internal social media channel). • Working with our Web Team, manage the uploading of news and new content onto our Global Pharma Intranet. Manage existing content and working with team to update outdated information. • Support the management and implementation of internal communications projects and materials as required. • Support the management and execution of internal events and other communication activities, such as videos of executive members for Yammer. • Measure impact of the different activities that are planned as part of the communications strategy. • General support for the team, such as organizing weekly team meetings, regular video conferences with employee comms network or helping to manage budget process.
• University student with a Bachelor’s degree and/ or Master’s degree in Communications, PR, journalism or marketing is preferred • Native English speaker. Second language beneficial • Previous work experience in the field of communications • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities; project and /or event management experience beneficial • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Strong writer, with keen news sense • Experience (or strong interest) in communications planning and working with digital tools • Strong attention to detail • Proactive and self-motivated team member • Proficient with Microsoft Office
