The newly established research group, headed by Professor Alexander Stremitzer at ETH Zurich conducts research on the likely effects of advances in engineering and the sciences (including but not limited to block-chain technology, artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning, big data) on legal policy, regulation, and private ordering. The postdoc will have the opportunity to develop a course containing 14 distinct lectures in Spring 2020 that explore and showcase the legal implications of cutting-edge developments in engineering and the sciences. In the process, the postdoc/ fellow will forge ties with research groups, sit in lab meetings at different departments at ETH and explore the possibility of common research projects. The course will be a co-taught course, in which the postdoc/ fellow would have significant input and would also do some lecturing. Our offices are located in downtown Zurich, and the working language is English. The appointment will be for at least one year and up to three years (contingent on satisfactory performance) with a flexible starting date. Part-time appointments are also possible in order to accommodate the needs of highly competitive candidates. Salaries are internationally competitive, paid according to .
