EMPA (European Master of Public Administration Consortium) is a network of European schools, that offer master programs in public administration.
The project exploits resistive switching phenomena emerging in reduced dimensions to design novel electronic building blocks which will implement complex, reprogrammable functionalities for neural network applications.
Tasks
Structural and electrical characterization of devices for understanding and optimizing their resistive switching properties
Data analysis and modeling at the device level (LabView, Matlab, Phyton, Comsol)
Implementation of machine learning algorithms
Presentation of results in peer-reviewed scientific journals and at international conferences
Profile
Undergraduate backgroundin physics
A specialization in solid state physics is preferred
Micro/nano fabrication experience is preferred
Fluent in English (oral and written)
Highly motivated, critical thinking, open-minded and communicative person, with a strong interest to work in an interdisciplinary research environment
The work will be carried out under the joint supervision of Dr. Miklos Csontos, Dr. Ivan Shorubalko and Prof. Michel Calame. The position is funded for up to 4 years.
