Head of IT Architecture and Interaction Design in Zürich

As the Head of IT Architecture and Interaction Design, you lead a team of interaction designers and solution architects. In this role, you will be part of the SWISS IT management and are responsible for the overarching IT Architecture of SWISS and the Digital Delivery Lab of the Lufthansa Group.

In the Digital Delivery Lab, our software engineers create the digital customer journey of the future for SWISS, Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines. With our in-house solutions, we significantly contribute towards our goal of providing our customers a best in class digital travel experience.

The SWISS IT department delivers more than 50 projects every year to which you and your team significantly contribute by defining a sustainable architecture.

With your passion for people, you continuously develop the skills of your team members. You interpret your role as an enabler shaping your team towards successfully operating in a cross-functional, agile business context and across different locations. With your excellent communication skills, you are able to represent perfectly your team and the Digital Delivery Lab with stakeholders of various levels and backgrounds all over the Lufthansa Group.

A sound technical background with developer experience is taken for granted and you have a proven track record of successfully managing the IT architecture for a larger organization.

As a Senior Manager, you are part of our team of more than 120 software engineers in Basel, Zurich, Gdansk and Belgrade and are reporting directly to the Head of Digital Delivery Lab.

 Your duties

• Overarching IT architecture responsibility for SWISS
• Application architecture responsibility for solutions developed in the Lufthansa Group Digital Delivery Lab
• Development, documentation and enforcement of architecture guidelines
• Organization and execution of the SWISS IT Architecture Board in which all SWISS IT projects are reviewed and approved with regard to architecture
• Organization and execution of the Lufthansa Group Digital Delivery Lab Architecture Board
• Consult projects with regard to architecture and actively support the architecture documentation within projects
• Observation of technology to assess degree of maturity for usage within the company
• Create and maintain the architecture and technology roadmap
• Lead a team of onsite, near- and offshore solution architects and interaction designers
• Develop the skills of your team to keep pace with market needs
• Responsibility to create and maintain a collaborative, performant and efficient work environment between different geographical locations
• Be present at the different locations and interact with business stakeholders and counterparts within the Lufthansa Group
• Provide architecture presentations within the Lufthansa Group
• Manage your cost center

Degree in computer science

• Broad technical background
• Assertiveness and persistence
• Curiosity to continuously learn
• Experience in an enterprise architect environment
• Knowledgeable about IT processes like ITIL
• Highly developed analytical skills
• Excellent communication- and cooperation skills with internal and external partners
• Experienced with agile, DevSecOps and cloud computing
• Team-player, flexible, proactive and able to work under pressure
• Excellent German and English knowledge; written and spoken
• Experienced in leading people as a line manage
