Usability Expert in Zürich

The Online Sales department is leading the development and operation of the Lufthansa Group’s online platforms. Our websites swiss.com, lufthansa.com and austrian.com are amongst the top ecommerce platforms in Europe and offer a variety of different products and services. In addition, our mobile apps accompany our passengers on their journey from booking to the final destination. As Usability Expert, you are part of the UX & Analytics Team at SWISS within the Online Sales department. You will be responsible for identifying and managing Usability topics in a team of colleagues in Zurich, Frankfurt and Vienna. The experiences you will craft require tireless focus on solving customer problems and offering the best possible experience on our digital platforms. You will back concepts with test results and data and act as an UX Expert within the Lufthansa Group Online Sales organization. You will collaborate with colleagues and different internal stakeholders across locations. Your home base is the UX & Analytics team in Zurich, which ensures a digital consistency on design, content, usability and in depth web-analytics and business insights and detecting customer needs as well as optimization potential. As an Usability Expert in our team you are an important part of the team for all usability related topics as well as for bringing the digital channels of the Lufthansa Group swiss.com, lufthansa.com and austrian.com to the next level.

Your Duties

• Delegate and active participant in major project as Usability Expert
• Contribute to requirements, user stories and design documents
• Identify and solve usability and UI design problems
• Collaborate with the team to conduct user research and surveys
• Setup, coordinate and run in-house usability tests and conduct interviews
• Define and document usability and UI standards (for booking, servicing and check-in flow)
• Work closely with our web analyst, optimization specialist, project leaders and external interface (e.g. agencies)
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, UX designers, developers and other business stakeholders
• Coordinate and participate in specification reviews, design reviews and other quality assurance, ensuring best practices and user experience integrity
• Evangelizing user-centered design practices and the importance of user experience/usability within the development group, our company, and organizations
• Help the teams interpret and understand user feedback, and provide input for design decisions based on that feedback
• Make recommendations to team members about which usability methods to use to answer their questions about users and design directions based on projects' needs, goals and constraint

• Degree in psychology with a focus on interaction design, or a degree in computer science with a focus on human-machine interaction or equivalent, both in combination with work experience in the area of UCD/UX/UI
• Very good knowledge of UX-methodology
• Proven track record turning research results into actionable design and development requirements resulting in increases user satisfaction
• Solid understanding of current web technologies
• Ability to assess the possibilities of technology and a graphic / design affinity
• Ability to balance needs of a large number of concurrent projects and work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Solution oriented and self-motivated
• Experience in interface management (e.g. agencies, providers)
• Estimates collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
• Willingness to travel
