ETH Zurich is one of the world’s leading universities specialising in science and technology. The Institute for Learning Sciences and Higher Education chaired by Prof. Manu Kapur is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position in ethics education with a focus on play- and game-based learning environments.
The Future Learning Initiative at ETH Zurich is recruiting a motivated scholar for a postdoctoral project at the intersection of bioethics/medical ethics, biology, and technology. The project will: (1) investigate how to effectively enhance learning strategies as to foster scientific integrity and responsible innovation among students and early-career researchers; and (2) develop innovative and evidence-based tools, including gamification to foster ethics education in the STEM disciplines. This interdisciplinary project will expand ongoing programs for ethics education at ETH Zurich and develop new tools to identify and analyze ethical issues in science, technology, and innovation. Specifically, we propose a systematic design, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive program of research on the learning of ethics at ETH, where ETH graduates not only learn about ethical issues but are enculturated into a culture of ethical conduct and social responsibility.
