Jobbeschreibung

Within the Technical Division, the department MRO Services Management is responsible for all 3rd party- provided MRO (maintenance, repair & overhaul) services on our airframes and engines. The team has the commercial responsibility for the strategic and operational business to ensure the airline obtains value for money at a defined level of quality. Based on the long-term need for 3rd party maintenance support and in close cooperation with the other Lufthansa Group airlines, the team evaluates, selects and contracts the right MRO partners from within the Lufthansa Group and from the worldwide MRO market. Once contracted, the team actively manages our suppliers, making use of business intelligence based on key performance indicators; thereby ensuring supplier performance meets the contractually agreed targets. As MRO Service Procurement Manager, you will be working in a team with other MRO Service Procurement Managers, each being responsible for the strategic sourcing and supplier management of their assigned MRO service portfolio.

 

Your Duties

Will be a mix of strategic procurement and operational procurement for airframe maintenance

Strategic Procurement

  • Define MRO service concept for each contracted MRO service, with due consideration for MRO market traits and opportunities, the operational requirements of SWISS and the Lufthansa Group and available appropriate sourcing tools
  • Prepare and manage tender processes (RFQs) in cooperation with other Lufthansa Group airlines
  • Act as lead-buyer or participate in joint procurement campaigns within the Lufthansa group airlines
  • Produce an annual budget for the contracted MRO services
  • Select MRO service suppliers in accordance with internal and external rules and regulations.
  • Negotiate and conclude MRO service agreements in line with the required service levels and budgeted cost
  • Obtain approvals for MRO service agreements
  • Ensure that proper interfaces and joint procedures between SWISS and MRO service suppliers are established and implemented
  • Monitor fulfilment of contracted work according to applicable regulations and service level agreements (SLA)
  • Secure appropriate billing by MRO; close follow-up on all invoiced services
  • Relationship management with the key MRO service suppliers including performance of the MROs
  • Development and improvement of methods and guidelines for procurement of services

 

Operational Procurement

  • Work together with other departments within the Technical Division to collect, verify, bundle and optimize demand for future MRO services against budget and long term plan
  • Request quotations for required work scopes within available frame agreements or ad-hoc maintenance agreements
  • Detailed review of quotations issued by the MRO service suppliers for correctness and in line with available agreements
  • Ensure correct booking of the purchase order into the respective IT systems
  • Review invoices of performed work, close follow-up on all invoiced services
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies with the MRO service suppliers on demand, work closely together with internal departments in reference to claim management activities towards the suppliers
  • Participate in the continuous improvement process via Kaizen workshops
  • Supporting the establishment of the annual budget for contracted MRO services
Your profile
  • Higher Education (Engineering and / or Business Administration) or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of experience in a technical division in the aviation.
  • Furthermore at least 1 years of experience in sourcing MRO services
  • Advanced negotiation and problem solving skills with a deep understanding of the MRO market and its business processes
  • Fluent in English and German, written and spoken
  • Self-dependence with a pro-active attitude driving for results and solutions
  • Experienced in business development, risk & relationship management
  • Experienced in methods and instruments of data management and data analysis
  • Profound knowledge of financial effects on the business value chain
  • Skilled communicator and strong team player with distinctive social skills
  • Financial skills for business case calculation
  • AMOS knowledge is an advantage
