The main task of Revenue Management (RM) is to achieve the optimal revenue and to maximize profitability for the company by managing the relationship between price, demand and capacity.
The team RM Steering Solutions is responsible for systems and solutions supporting the Capacity Steering units in all hubs of the Lufthansa Group (LHG).

As a Business Analyst in RM Steering Solutions, your responsibility will focus on business process engineering as well as enhancing tools from external system providers that are used in the daily business by all RM and Pricing operational teams in the LHG. Your duties will also include the maintenance, operation, support and system administration for these tools and systems.

You will be working in close collaboration with other technical experts in the RM Systems and Solutions department and the IT department as well as the operational units in Capacity Steering and Pricing. You report to the Head of RM Steering Solutions based in Zurich.

Your Duties:

  • Lead and participate in Business and IT-projects connected to area of responsibility
  • Carry out system administration, maintenance, operation and support of the RM Systems
  • Focus on Capacity Steering related systems such as Demand Forecast, Optimizer, Inventory and Group Steering systems
  • Define and model system processes to meet the business requirements
  • Coordinate and cooperate with internal and external interfaces such as system providers
  • Provide insight to the Capacity Steering business units on how to best develop and leverage IT capabilities for the organization
  • Maintain current knowledge and system functionalities and actively seek to understand new advances on the horizon
  • Train and evaluate work processes to maximize usage efficiency of RM Systems
  • Ensure accurate information and appropriate distribution to internal and external interfaces
Your profile
  • Academic degree in Economics, Business Administration, Business Engineering or aviation related subject
  • Good knowledge of Revenue Management and Pricing
  • Good knowledge of a Revenue Management System, preferably in the airline sector
  • Practical experience with managing IT applications
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Good knowledge of SQL, UNIX and webservices (XML, JSON)
  • Strong analytical, numerical and problem solving skills combined with good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Conceptually strong and capable of seeing the bigger picture
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
  • Hands-on team player
  • Confident and able to perform consistently also under pressure
  • English written and spoken (German is an asset)
