ETH Zurich is one of the world’s leading universities specialising in science and technology. It is renowned for its excellent education, its cutting-edge fundamental research and its efforts to put new knowledge and innovations directly into practice. The labour market division at KOF is a new research division at KOF Swiss Economic Institute, ETH Zurich. The division monitors, analyses, and evaluates the effects of policies, institutions and economic forces on jobs, the workforce, and wages, with the aim of establishing quantitative evidence relevant for policy makers and society at large. Core competencies include the analysis of firms' demand for workers, wage setting and wage inequality, discrimination, immigration, unemployment, and digital labour markets. Our analyses are often based on innovative and large datasets, and we apply rigorous econometric or machine learning methods to estimate causal effects.
The central task of this position is to conduct academic research on labour market phenomena with a focus on the Swiss labour market. The successful candidate also helps to build up the new research division and participates in the forecasting and monitoring activities of the institute.
