Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) –the ability of microbes to evolve and resist treatment- is rising globally. In September 2016, the United Nations General Assembly declared AMR “the most urgent global risk”, and mandated its member states to establish national action plans against AMR, including improvements to epidemiological surveillance systems. We are looking for an enthusiast and quantitatively minded candidate to work on the spatial association between antimicrobial consumption and resistance. The ideal candidate will also bring his/her own research questions to develop in the broad field of AMR epidemiology. This is a fixed term position for two 2 years with an anticipated start date between September 1st and December 31th 2019. The position is based at ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
