Crew Control (m/f/diverse) in Zürich

SWISS Crew Control processes changes in the duties of all cockpit and cabin crews of all types, irrespective of their cause, from the time of publication of the roster until the current departure date.

A team of approximately 30 employees, supported by a modern crew management system, continuously monitors SWISS’ operation during 24-hour operations. Problems relating to crew deployment plans are recorded, analyzed and resolved as promptly and sensibly as possible.

For the position in Crew Control we are looking for a resilient, team-oriented and flexible personality with experience and pleasure in dealing with people who feels at home in a dynamic and varied environment.


Your duties

  • Checking all SWISS flights worldwide for correct crew composition (number, qualification) and making adjustments as required
  • Minimizing the effects of disruptions to daily flight operations caused by crew members, while maintaining the greatest possible operational stability for all parties concerned
  • Supervising crew training, and if necessary, direct follow-up planning or coordination with the relevant planning authorities
  • Deployment of reserve crews, taking economic and social factors into account
  • Support of line management (cockpit & cabin) for questions on crew deployment
  • Timely notification of crews for deployment changes
  • Feedback to planning positions with regard to crew deployment
  • Answering questions from crews about their assignments over the phone, at counters and via e-mail
  • Maintenance of passport, visa and other data in the crew management system
  • Creation of reports in case of irregularities
  • Analyzing system behavior with feedback to the provider
  • Completion of administrative tasks (e.g. statistics, data maintenance, etc.) and participation in working groups and/or small projects
Your profile
  • Completed vocational training in the commercial or tourism sector
  • At least 2 - 3 years professional experience
  • Special training in aviation, or experience in the airline and/or aviation sector would be an advantage
  • High level of social competence, team skills and empathy
  • Strong, flexible personality, ability to concentrate
  • Strong coordination and communication skills
  • Analytical thinking skills and ability to prioritize tasks Independent, solution-oriented and decisive
  • Very good knowledge of German and English (spoken and written), French advantageous
  • Good MS-Office knowledge; no fear of contact with PC and telephone
  • Readiness for shift work, 365 days, at the beginning within the period 05:00 - 23:00h, after the completion of the training selective night shifts
