Postdoctoral Researcher in Biomedical Image Computing Group in Zürich

The Biomedical Imaging Computing Group is looking for a postdoctoral researcher for a project on online learning and interactive segmentation.

The goal of the project is to develop accurate segmentation methods that allow for user interactions and integrate online learning for continuous improvements. The project is a collaboration between ETH Zurich, University of Zurich Hospital (USZ) and Varian Medical Systems.

The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for developing novel methods, designing and executing experiments for interactive segmentation and online learning. The person will also be leading the collaboration with Varian Medical Systems and University of Zurich Hospital on this project. In addition to the responsibility of the project, the researcher is also expected to contribute to the research environment of the BMIC group. The position duration is fixed to two years. Extensions are subject to availability of additional funding. The post-doctoral researcher will be a part of the BMIC group as well as the Computer Vision Laboratory at ETH Zurich, and expected to closely collaborate with USZ and Varian Medical Systems.

The successful candidate should have a PhD in medical image analysis, computer vision, physics, statistics or a related field; a track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences, experience with image segmentation and machine learning methods, and excellent communication and writing skills in English. Programming knowledge in Python and/or C++, and advanced mathematical skills are essential. Experience in image analysis and machine learning is preferred.
