Swiss WorldCargo is the cargo division of Swiss International Air Lines Ltd. Our focus and strategy is clearly based on high-added-value products and intensive care solutions. Swiss WorldCargo offers a wide airfreight network with over 120 destinations in more than 80 countries. This job opportunity has a strategic function within the Cargo sales organization Switzerland with main interfaces to forwarders, direct customers and providers.

We are looking for a new team member with good negotiation skills and strong ability to convince. You will take care of customer logistic needs, complaints handling and provide transportation solutions in order to maintain and develop current and potential business. Requested capacity is blocked either by existing and prearranged allotments or new bookings. You will be able to join an interesting environment and a small but efficient team with a total of 6 team members. You will have an important role to maintain current business, to create additional activities and added value solutions within a very dynamic environment of the luxury goods industry with increasing air cargo competition. 

Besides having contact to direct customers of the forwarding and shipping industry in the area of Switzerland and France mainly over phone or e-mails, you will use your language skills on a daily basis to communicate to interfaces such as internal departments, stations abroad, providers and the cargo teams located in Zurich, Geneva and Paris.  

Your Duties

  • Perform bookings and re-bookings
  • Generating revenue by promoting Swiss WorldCargo worldwide Network and service solutions (products)
  • Develop and secure current and potential business
  • Perform and follow up short term sales activities such as offer special rates upon spot requests
  • Conduct operational supervision of special shipments
  • Conduct post shipment activities; e.g. written statements
  • Find short term transportation solutions with providers such as ground handling agents, unit load device suppliers, local trucking companies
  • Coordinate import handling issues and monitor special import shipments with local interfaces
  • Coordinate claims and complaints handling with team and interfaces
  • Participate in local team meetings
  • Proactive sales at the phone on the various products and services offered to our customers
  • Inform/advise customers about general rules and regulations in the air cargo business
  • Establish written offers to customers and secure proper and timely follow-up
  • Accept and dispatch air cargo shipment according to IATA, FOCA and Swiss WorldCargo regulations
Your profile
  • Business school level or adequate education in Air cargo / Forwarding Industry
  • Proven, successful experience in sales activity
  • Very good language skills German (spoken and written), English (spoken and written), French (spoken and written)
  • Good MS office user knowledge
  • Work effectively with others and be a team-oriented person
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Solution oriented thinker and ability to master difficult and challenging situations
