The goal of the Neural Control of Movement Lab (Department of Health Sciences and Technology) is to understand how the brain controls behavior and develop non-invasive interfaces to modulate brain function. Applications are invited for the following opening: PhD Position on ‘Neuromodulation through Neurofeedback: Investigating the mechanisms of self-regulation in humans’.
We are interested in the application of neurofeedback to modulate brain function and behavior in healthy subjects. Our neurofeedback paradigms are based on a variety of physiological parameters including motor evoked potentials (measured with TMS) and neural oscillations (measured with EEG). The aim of this work is to deepen our understanding of how neurofeedback modulates neural processing and behavior.
The successful candidate will have a MSc degree (or be close to completion) in the field of neuroscience, neurophysiology, psychology, biomedical engineering or a related field. The candidate should be technically capable with programming experience in Matlab, Python or a similar language. Experience with at least one of the experimental techniques listed above is desirable, with TMS experience preferred. Experience with psychophysical experimentation in human subjects will also be highly regarded. She/he is a team player, has strong communication skills, is self-motivated, has scientific curiosity, and performs rigorous experimental work.
We look forward to receiving your online application including a letter of motivation, CV, diplomas and contact details of 2 referees. Please note that we exclusively accept applications submitted through our online application portal. Applications via email or postal services will not be considered.
