The group of Prof. Gonzalo Guillén-Gosálbez, at the Institute for Chemical and Bioengineering, is a dynamic interdisciplinary research team that applies modelling and optimization tools to tackle a wide variety of problems in the area of Sustainable Engineering. Our overarching aim is to underpin the transition towards a more sustainable industrial sector, with a particular focus on the chemical industry and its links to the power sector.
We wish to recruit a motivated and talented post-doctoral fellow to undertake original research in the area of Sustainable Engineering, with applications in energy and the environment, and ideally with special focus on the chemical sector.
We offer world-class facilities in a pleasant work atmosphere with ample opportunities for collaboration within and beyond our group. The original length of the contract is one year, with potential extension until a maximum of three years.
The candidate should hold a PhD in a relevant area for this position. You should demonstrate previous expertise in Sustainable Engineering, as applied to energy and the environment, through scientific outputs in the field. It is also essential that you can work in a team, as well as independently. The ideal candidate should be able to carry out high quality research and communicate the results via articles and presentations. You should also be able to collaborate actively with researchers at ETH as well as with other institutions
