Crew Management System Developer (all genders) in Zürich

Operations Planning is responsible for the planning process of cockpit and cabin crew from long term planning to day of operations, supported by integrated and sophisticated Crew Management Systems.

We are looking for candidates who combine excellent programming and technology skills with a practical approach to problem solving and business (crew planning) understanding.

You must be happy to work on all aspects of development and maintenance projects from start to finish. Interacting with users to build an understanding of the requirements then designing, testing, implementing and monitoring appropriate developments is key in this position.

You must have a strong enthusiasm for programming and technology as well as the ability to work in a dynamic and integrated team.

Your duties

• Providing adequate programming solutions to support operations planners (issue identification, requirement specification, design, coding, testing, implementation)
• Maintaining the CMS reliability, compliance and performance using appropriate tools (Jira, Eclipse, Mercurial, Java, Python, Rave)
• Building and developing relationships with CMS users and IT solution providers

• Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent
• 2 years of experience in programming: object oriented design data structures, algorithms
• In depth understanding and experience in programming languages, ideally Java and Python
• Good knowledge of Linux, Oracle and Eclipse
• Pragmatic problem solver, analytical skills with ability to use initiative
• Enthusiasm for programming technology
• A previous professional experience using optimization solvers with an airline is an asset
• Very good German and English knowledge (oral and written)
