The Biotechnology and Bioengineering group directed by Professor Martin Fussenegger at the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (D-BSSE), ETH Zurich in Basel is recruiting a Post-Doctoral Researcher for a project in the field of Mammalian Biotechnology.

Job description

The translational research project specifically involves engineering an artificial pancreatic tissue from patient-derived pluripotent stem cells utilizing the principles of synthetic biology and tissue engineering.

Your profile

The successful candidate must be exceptionally motivated and highly skilled in standard molecular, cell biology techniques and has experience in differentiating pluripotent stem cells to specialized cell types. In particular, one must have demonstrated experience with media design and gene expression analysis (Reporter-based assays, Real-time PCR, Immunostaining and Flow cytometry). We expect the candidate to be a collaborative team player with strong interest in developing cell-based therapy for diabetes.
