PhD Researcher in Macroeconomic Forecasting in Zürich

The KOF Swiss Economic Institute at the ETH Zurich is the leading institute for applied research in economics in Switzerland and is looking for a PhD Researcher in Macroeconomic Forecasting.

You will work in the Division Macroeconomic Forecasting. You will pursue a PhD in the fields of macroeconomics, macroeconometrics and/or forecasting. In addition, you will contribute to forecasting and monitoring the international macroeconomy and Swiss foreign trade. You will contribute to the development of forecasting tools for macroeconomic variables based on big mixed-frequency data.

You have a master’s degree (or equivalent) in economics or any other related subject. You intend to conduct high-quality research. You have a clear interest in macroeconomic forecasting, business cycle analysis, macroeconometrics, time series econometrics, machine learning and computer coding of statistical models. Rigorous training in econometrics and/or statistics is desired. A strong command of R, Matlab or other programming languages is a plus. Good writing skills in German and English are mandatory and good knowledge of French and/or Italian is an asset.
