Studierende finden an der ETH Zürich ein Umfeld, das eigenständiges Denken fördert, Forschende ein Klima, das zu Spitzenleistungen inspiriert.
The Chair of Negotiation and Conflict Management (NECOM) in the Department of Management, Technology and Economics (D-MTEC) at ETH Zurich has several open positions as Student Research Assistants (HiWi) for 1 semester or 1 year.
The group's research and teaching combines the theoretical background of negotiation engineering, game theory, different technical and applied negotiation schools of thought, mediation and conflict management, with the practical appreciation of negotiation based on the mathematical background and more than 30 years of Prof. Dr. Michael Ambühl's diplomatic experience.
We are looking for a student to assist with our courses, seminars or summer schools. Typical tasks comprise the development of case studies of current negotiations and conflicts in international relations, small research tasks or the preparation of lecture materials (slides, homework). The student research assistant will also assist with organizational tasks at the chair (within the scope of (guest-) lectures, seminars or the Swiss School of Public Governance).
The candidate should be enrolled in a master’s program at ETH Zurich or another Swiss university (preferably with a quantitative and/or policy-related field of study like mathematics, physics, engineering, economics, political science, etc.), be available at least 1 day a week in Zurich (300 working hours per year) and possess very good German and English language skills. Having attended one of our lectures (Introduction to Negotiation, Contemporary Conflict Management, Mathematics in Politics and Law) or related courses is a plus.
We look forward to receiving your online application by 12 January 2020 with the following documents: motivation letter, CV and your university transcripts of records (with a description of the grading system).
Please note that we exclusively accept applications submitted through our online application portal. Applications via email or postal services will not be considered.
