Studierende finden an der ETH Zürich ein Umfeld, das eigenständiges Denken fördert, Forschende ein Klima, das zu Spitzenleistungen inspiriert.
The Institute of Machine Tools and Manufacturing (IWF) at ETH Zurich conducts basic and applied research in many areas of production engineering. It maintains close cooperation with inspire AG, the leading Swiss competence centre for technology transfer to the machine, electrical and metal industries. Led by Prof. Dr. Konrad Wegener, the fields of activity range from production machines, manufacturing processes and machine simulation to virtual reality. To strengthen our research group "Analysis" we offer the following position for young scientists (m/f).
The utilization of machine intelligence in the development of highly productive ultra-precision manufacturing machinery is the framework within which your research is positioned. At first, you will be working in the scope of an inter-academic project with the laboratory for Micro- and Nanosystems (MSN) at ETH, the laboratory for machine learning and optimization at EPFL Lausanne and the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing and Research (EMPA), on the development of a high-precision mechatronic manufacturing system for the serial production of carbon-nanotube sensors. For this, you will come into close contact with machine learning algorithms and leading research in the fields of nano and drive systems and work together with an excellent interdisciplinary scientific team. Within this framework, we offer a full time position in our group.
