The Biomedical Imaging Computing Group () at ETH Zurich is looking for a postdoctoral researcher for a project on online learning and interactive segmentation.
Project background
Image segmentation is an essential component of treatment planning in radiotherapy. Being able to accurately segment lesions as well as healthy tissue rapidly can improve the workflow efficiency and reproducibility. The goal of the advertised project is to tackle this problem by developing machine learning-based methods for leveraging user interactions and online learning for continuous improvements and integrating user preferences. The project is a collaboration between ETH Zurich, University of Zurich Hospital (USZ) and Varian Medical Systems.
Job description
The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for developing novel methods, designing and executing experiments for interactive segmentation and online learning. In addition to the responsibility of the project, the researcher is also expected to contribute to the research environment of the BMIC group. The position duration is fixed to two years. The start date can be as early as 15 August 2020. Extensions are subject to availability of additional funding. The post-doctoral researcher will be a part of the BMIC group as well as the Computer Vision Laboratory at ETH Zurich, and expected to closely collaborate with USZ and Varian Medical Systems.
Your profile
- a PhD in medical image analysis, computer vision, physics, statistics or a related field
- a track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and international
conferences
- experience with image segmentation, preferably medical images, and machine
learning methods
- excellent communication and writing skills in English
Programming knowledge in Python and/or C++, and advanced mathematical skills are essential.
