We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated student for a master project of a duration of 4 to 6 months. The start date is flexible.
Your position
The goal of the project is to look at the role of different neuronal populations for sound processing in the mouse brain. We aim at revealing changes in brain development during adolescence and help to understand what controls brain maturation. We hope this research will help to improve hearing in deaf patients.
Your profile
A background in life sciences, biology, biochemistry or physics is desired. Knowledge of neurobiology and brain development is a plus. The main techniques and skills that will be developed are mouse brain processing, immunohistochemistry, imaging, cell quantification and data analysis.
The project will take place in the Brain and Sound Lab (), Department of Biomedicine, University of Basel, Switzerland. Supervision will be carried out by Patricia Valerio and Tania Barkat.
