Description
A PhD position (36 months) is available at Syngenta Stein Research Centre (Switzerland) in the frame of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network European Training Networks (ITN-ETN) C-H Activation for Industrial Renewal (CHAIR), funded by the European Commission (Grant agreement no: 860762).The researcher who will take part in the above project will be enrolled at University of Strasbourg in the Doctoral School of Chemical Science granting a PhD degree at the end of three years.
PhD Project description: The project will be focused on using C-H activation as a key step towards the next generation of robust, homogenous catalysts.[1] Novel catalytic methodologies will be developed using innovative (asymmetric) C-H activation strategies, including “transient Directing Group approach”. The state-of-the-art equipment and software platform for parallel reaction screening, pressure-reaction screening, in-situ reaction monitoring (PAT) and continuous flow chemistry will be utilized within this project. Applications towards the library synthesis of biologically active compounds are anticipated. The candidate will be able to leverage Syngenta AI platform for Chemical Synthesis.
