Studierende finden an der ETH Zürich ein Umfeld, das eigenständiges Denken fördert, Forschende ein Klima, das zu Spitzenleistungen inspiriert.
The advanced Catalysis Engineering group headed by Prof. Pérez-Ramírez is a world leader in the design of heterogeneous catalysts and reactor concepts devoted to sustainable technologies. We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join research activities on carbon dioxide valorization to energy carriers in the frame of the National Center of Competence in Research, NCCR Catalysis (). The position is for one year, with possible extension, and available immediately.
NCCR Catalysis aims to revolutionize catalysis research in Switzerland, developing skills, tools, and technologies that facilitate the transition towards a carbon-neutral chemical industry. To achieve this goal, it combines multidimensional and cross‐disciplinary modes, including catalysis, chemistry, materials science, chemical and process engineering, and computer sciences with translational approaches in research, education, and society. Jointly led by ETH Zurich and EPFL Lausanne, the network comprises seven universities and three research institutes in Switzerland.
The specific project embraces an integrated approach to catalyst design intertwining fundamental understanding and discovery to develop thermocatalytic technologies transforming carbon dioxide directly into transportation fuels diesel, gasoline, and kerosene. Research activities will encompass precision synthesis, in-depth characterization, and testing under industrially-relevant conditions to access structure-function relations guiding the identification of superior materials.
You have a doctoral degree in heterogeneous catalysis with a strong publications record. Experience in kinetics and sustainable development is an advantage. You are a highly committed and self-driven individual with a creative and proactive mindset, striving to excel in a top-level, dynamic environment. You are able to work in a team and have very strong communication skills in speaking and writing.
